About the Artist
I have always loved photography. The different angles, scenes.... memories locked in time, places to someday visit. It has only been in the past few years, however, that I have started to make the leap from amateur photographer into the professional realm. Having studied Historic Preservation in Grad school, I started recognizing angles and elements of architecture and where my eye was drawn. Crumbling buildings, pieces of trim, landscapes, scenery, it all started to fall into place for me. My photos started to become refined. My technique became better. My cameras became better. I became better. I hope the improvement never stops.
I used to find myself saying that people ruined my pictures, as someone undoubtedly would step into a scene I had lovingly framed just before the button was pushed. As a new mom, however I am finding myself compelled to explore the wonderful world of photographing people. Watching them grow and change, capturing an intimate moment, or seeing joy on the face of a stranger are all facets I want to entertain. I am working on building a portfolio including images of children, portrait, wedding, engagement, and maternity photographs which will be posted in the upcoming months.
